In January 2023, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 104.4 billion. At the same time, cash expenses became almost twice as much – UAH 193.7 billion, including the general fund – UAH 183.6 billion. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, February 2.

Actual government borrowings in the general fund in January 2023 amounted to UAH 160.1 billion. UAH 41.4 billion was attracted from the placement of government bonds to finance the state budget. UAH 118.7 billion (EUR 3 billion) of EU macro-financial assistance proceeds were attracted from external sources.
In addition, in January, the budget received UAH 36.6 billion in the form of international aid (grants).
At the same time, payments to repay the public debt for January 2023 amounted to UAH 12.8 billion.
Recall that the state budget law for 2023 provides for state budget revenues of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 1 trillion 329.3 billion. The costs will reach UAH 2 trillion 580.7 billion. The maximum deficit is UAH 1 trillion 296.5 billion.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance estimated the state budget expenditures since the beginning of the war at 2.2 trillion Hryvnias. At the same time, half of the money went to the salaries of military personnel, the purchase of weapons and defense products.
