The regulator fined nine oblenergos for not following shutdown schedules

In the last two weeks, NEURC has already fined 9 distribution companies, or almost half of all oblenergos in the country.

On January 30, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NKREKU) fined 4 oblenergos for “failure to comply with shutdown schedules in the face of power shortages.” The corresponding decision was made today at a commission meeting.

In particular, a fine was imposed on Lvivoblenergo, Zakarpattyaoblenergo, DTEK Kyiv regional power grids and Poltavaoblenergo.

So, in the last two weeks, NEURC has already fined 9 distribution companies, or almost half of all oblenergos in the country.

Recall that since October 2022, Russia has begun mass attacks on Ukraine with missiles and drones. The main purpose is critical and energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of the terrorist attacks, Ukraine’s energy system experienced severe capacity shortages, causing regularly planned and emergency blackouts across the country.
