Ukraine can also become the main exporter of “green” energy to the EU, the head of the energy company said.
Ukraine has the opportunity to increase the share of renewable energy up to 50% in the structure of generating capacities by 2030. About that expressed DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko during the round table “Ukraine: accelerating decarbonization in Europe” at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“30 GW of renewable energy sources will allow Ukraine to achieve a 50% share of green energy. 15 GW of “clean” energy can be exported to the EU in the form of electricity and clean hydrogen,” he said.
Timchenko added that Ukraine can become the main exporter of “green” energy in the EU and make a significant contribution to the post-war energy security system in Europe.
Recall that at the end of December, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in a speech to the Verkhovna Rada, said that thanks to the leadership positions in green energy, as well as the development of nuclear and hydrogen generation, during the peace, Ukraine should be one of the guarantors. of European energy security.
