Solving the issue of exports and restoring logistics through Black Sea ports is very important for the country, the head of Metinvest said.
The unblocking of the Black Sea ports and the restoration of logistics through them will be the main optimistic factor for the Ukrainian economy in 2023 and will give strength to its active development. Yuri Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group, said this in an interview with New Times.
“Restoring the work of the Black Sea ports before the victory in the war will allow all Ukrainian enterprises to increase production capacities, increase the volume of exports of raw materials and products metal. This will lead to a significant increase in Ukrainian exports, foreign exchange earnings in the country and taxes in the budget,” he said.
Ryzhenkov added that before the war, the mining and metallurgical complex ensured the inflow of foreign currency into the country, which had a positive effect on the stability of the national currency.
“The basis of a strong national currency and a positive trade balance of the country was formed by the MMC itself. Therefore, solving the issue of exports for the industry is very important for the country,” said the head of Metinvest .
Recall that Ryzhenkov spoke earlier about Metinvest’s losses due to the war.
