PJSC Gazprom has officially confirmed the volume of natural gas contracted for supplies to the Republic of Moldova in May 2022, Moldovagaz reports.
Moldova agreed with Russia on additional gas supplies. This was confirmed by the head of the Moldovagaz board Vadim Cheban.
Earlier, Moldovan authorities announced the risk of stopping gas imports in May.
“PJSC Gazprom has officially confirmed the volume of natural gas contracted for supplies to the Republic of Moldova in May 2022,” Cheban said in a statement.
Recall that in January 2022, the Moldovan Parliament introduced a state of emergency in the country for two months due to Gazprom’s notification of the cessation of gas supplies. In January, Russian gas for Moldova rose in price by almost 50%. Earlier, Moldovagaz promised to make every effort to ensure timely and full payment for current deliveries.
