21 Chinese fighters, four H-6 bombers, as well as early warning aircraft, anti-submarine aircraft and tanker aircraft entered the island’s air defense zone.
Taiwan scrambled combat aircraft on Thursday, December 22, to warn 39 Chinese aircraft that entered its Southeast air defense zone. This was reported by Reuters in relation to the island’s Ministry of Defense.
It is known that 21 Chinese fighter jets, four H-6 bombers, as well as early warning aircraft, anti-submarine aircraft and tanker aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense zone.
In addition, three Chinese Navy ships are located near the island.
The Taiwanese defense ministry said it sent an unidentified combat aircraft to warn the PRC air group as the island’s missile system tracked its flight.
It will be recalled that China considers Taiwan its territory and in recent years has increased pressure on the self-governing island. Taiwan’s government rejects China’s claims and says it wants peace but will defend itself if attacked.
The State Department has assessed the possibility of war between China and Taiwan
