A Twitter user made his request to McDonald’s go viral, “Burger from nothing” as he called it.
Rob DenBlaker, co-creator of the dark humor comic book Cyanide and Happiness, decided to test the fast food chain’s ordering system.
Her mission was to find out what she could get if she removed ALL of the food when ordering a cheeseburger.
After a failed attempt on December 17, DenBlaker shared his order on Twitter.
Order “nothing burger”
“Okay. Let’s try again by ordering a burger from nothing McDonald’s. On this occasion, nothing else is in order. Will they cancel? Will they send you an empty bag? I’m doing this so you don’t do this,” he tweeted on Dec. 20.
The order in the DoorDash app shows the order: no mustard, no ketchup, no onion, no pickle, no American cheese, no meat, no bread, and no salt.
“That’s not even the dumbest thing I spent $9 on,” he said as he ordered on the app.
Through the app, the delivery man said, “The restaurant doesn’t understand what you want in your order.” DenBlaker decided not to answer and see what he got.
Finally, his strange order arrived as ordered: a paper bag with empty packaging next to his receipt.
Tests included “unboxing”.
“I tipped the delivery man $6, so I actually paid $15 for not eating the hamburger,” he mused.
