Ukrainian and Russian presidents received an invitation to take part in the G20 summit in November.
Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the invitation from Indonesian President Joko Widodo to attend the G20 summit in November. This was announced on Friday, April 29, by the press service of the President of Indonesia.
In a telephone conversation, the presidents discussed the situation in Ukraine, including the negotiation process.
“I reiterate the importance of an immediate end to the war. I also emphasize that a peaceful solution must be offered, and that Indonesia is ready to contribute to the peace effort. On this occasion, President Putin expressed his gratitude to invitation to the G20 summit and said he would attend, ”Widodo said.
Widodo also said he rejected Ukraine’s request to help with weapons.
“I stressed that in accordance with the mandate of the Indonesian constitution and the principles of Indonesia’s foreign policy, it is prohibited to provide assistance in the form of weapons to other countries,” he said.
At the same time, he offered humanitarian assistance. According to him, Indonesia will be able to deliver it in the near future.
Earlier, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had received an invitation from the President of Indonesia to attend the G20 summit in November.
