The ICRC has recently been able to enter the detention facilities of our prisoners on Russian territory. Which is exactly not reported.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) recently arrived at the places of detention of Ukrainian prisoners in Russia. This was reported by the Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
“A representative of the Coordination Headquarters said that the ICRC recently reached the places of detention of our prisoners in Russia. Which representatives of the Red Cross were not reported. Also, according to the ICRC, about 120 of our defenders in captivity received warm clothes and hygiene products,” – said the message.
As they say, it was discussed in an online meeting with the families of the captured defenders from the Azov regiment, united in the public organization Women of Steel.
During the meeting, relatives complained that the letters did not reach the prisoners of Azov. In the past, there was an agreement that the ICRC would organize the sending of letters from relatives of prisoners recognized by Russia.
“Despite the fact that when leaving Azovstal, the ICRC asked our defenders, officially Russia does not recognize them as prisoners. Therefore, the letters to the Azov people, unfortunately, will not be given. We are working hard fix it. Letters to Russia at the last stage were sent by the Russian Ministry of Defense “He is fully responsible for this. The released prisoners say they have not received messages from their relatives,” said a representative of the National Information Bureau.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he did not see the decisiveness of the International Committee of the Red Cross on the issue of Ukrainian prisoners.
