Fighting broke out between Kyiv and Tbilisi over Saakashvili

Georgia’s ruling party has declared that sending Saakashvili to Georgia was a special operation by Ukraine with the aim of dragging the country into war. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Tbilisi not to think about the topic of war.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed disappointment that the Georgian authorities are thinking about the subject of war in Ukraine, and renewed the call to give Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets access to Mikheil Saakashvili. This was stated in the message of the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko.

Thus, commenting on the statement of the head of the ruling party of Georgia, that the arrival of Mikheil Saakashvili was allegedly a special operation by Ukraine to draw Tbilisi into the war, Nikolenko said that some Georgian politicians uses various insinuations to nullify. hold themselves accountable for gross human rights violations in Georgia.

“Ukraine has never interfered and did not plan to interfere in the internal affairs of Georgia. But we are very disappointed that the Georgian authorities are thinking about the theme of war in Ukraine to achieve their narrow goals in domestic politics,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

He added that Ukraine is renewing its call for an ombudsman’s access to Saakashvili.

“We call on the Ukrainian citizen to be provided with proper medical care, as well as to meet the request to postpone his punishment for transfer to one of the Ukrainian, Western European or American clinics for further treatment,” Nikolenko emphasized.

It will be recalled that President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the Georgian authorities to transfer Saakashvili, who is a citizen of Ukraine, for treatment to a foreign clinic. As previously reported, heavy metals were found in the blood of the former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, the deterioration of his health may be due to poisoning.

In response, Mamuka Mdinaradze, leader of Georgia’s ruling party Georgian Dream, said that sending Saakashvili to Georgia was a special operation to bring the country into a war and divide Georgia.
