Recently, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Sergei Shoigu inspected “forward positions of Russian units.”
The visit of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation to the “frontline positions” turned into another performance. It was announced on Monday, December 19 GeoConfirmed project on Twitter, Radio Liberty edition on Telegram.
They noted that the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation inspected the grouping of occupying troops in the zone of the so-called “special operations.”
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Shoigu “flew around the areas where troops were deployed and inspected the forward positions of Russian units.”
However, the GeoConfirmed project found that, despite the statements of the Russian ministry, in the video published by the department, Shoigu is tens of kilometers from the advanced positions of the invaders.
Project volunteers studied the geolocation of the areas Shoigu was examining from the helicopter window. It turns out that the trenches that fell into the camera lens and where Shoigu flew are 85 kilometers from the front line.
GeoConfirmed, small thread.
“‘Russian Defense Minister Shoigu inspects forward positions of Russian army in battle area,’ Russian media wrote.”
❌No forward positions and no combat zone. (Thank you @GlasnostGone)

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation is not near advanced positions, but in the north of Crimea, near the city of Armyansk.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry published a video showing Shoigu in a military helicopter. The video also shows aerial shots of the earth’s surface. You can see the dug trenches.
