Washington will remain in contact with Kyiv regarding Belarus’ role in the Russian military venture.

The United States will be watching closely to see if Belarus gives more help to the Kremlin in the war in Ukraine, and if it does, new sanctions could be imposed on Minsk. About this on Monday, December 19, expressed US State Department spokesman Ned Price at the briefing.

“If the United States sees such requirements, it will respond accordingly, by imposing additional sanctions,” he said.

He emphasized that Washington will remain in contact with Kyiv on issues related to Belarus’ role in the Russian war.

Price also commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement that Russia is not “absorbing any state.”

“The height of the irony is the fact that this phrase came from the lips of the head of the country, who is now trying to force another one of his peaceful neighbors,” said Price.

Earlier, Putin said that Russia “will not take over” any state. This applies, in particular, to Belarus.

It was also reported that Russia supplied Belarus with the S-400 Triumf long-range air defense system and the Iskander operational-tactical missile system.
