In the Magadan region (Russia), on the morning of December 19, a Mi-8 helicopter crashed and caught fire during landing. It was reported by RIA Novosti.
It was noted that the helicopter caught fire on landing in the village of Takhtoyamsk in the Olsky district.
According to the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the helicopter crashed into a construction trailer, rolled onto its side and caught fire on the runway. Three crew members were able to leave the cabin before the fire started. The helicopter is owned by Polyar-Avia LLC.
A criminal case has been initiated in the incident.
Recall that recently in the capital of the Russian Republic of Buryatia, Ulan-Ude, a new Mi-8 helicopter caught fire, the crew of three people died.
