Russian troops that withdrew from the Kherson region are now deployed in the Zaporozhye, Lugansk and Donetsk regions.
The war in Ukraine entered a new phase after the liberation of Kherson. Today the invaders are concentrated in Zaporozhye, Lugansk and Donetsk regions. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky in an interview with BILD.
“After the liberation of Kherson, the war entered a new phase. Russian soldiers who retreated from the Kherson region are now deployed in the Zaporozhye, Luhansk and Donetsk regions. They consider the territories of Russia this region and they want to continue their full work,” Skibitsky said.
At the same time, he pointed out that the Russian invaders, including Vanger’s mercenaries, were committed to Bakhmut, despite heavy losses.
“First, they want to control the entire Donetsk region, and second, they want to attack the cities of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk from the south. And third, the owner of Wagner PPC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, cares about his prestige. He accuses the Russian army of not advancing, but he also has little to show,” the intelligence officer explained.
Skibitsky emphasized that the war in Ukraine has exhausted the Russian army both in terms of manpower and technology, as many components are unavailable due to sanctions. He pointed out that the problem will mainly affect aviation, ballistic and cruise missiles, and the agreements with Iran will not help.
“We are aware of the agreements between Iran and Russia, especially related to kamikaze drones, and now also related to ballistic missiles,” Skibitsky said, adding that Iran, which fears sanctions in the West, will delay the delivery of missiles as long as possible.
Skibitsky also said that Putin postponed the start of the invasion of Ukraine three times.
The previous day, intelligence reported that Russia had received a new batch of Shaheds.
