Due to cold weather, significant power shortages are possible, which could lead to emergency stabilization shutdowns.
In Ukraine, severe power shortages are possible on Monday due to cold weather. This was announced on Sunday, December 18, by the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky in a telethon,
He noted that there is a high possibility of an emergency stabilization shutdown across the country.
“Today and tomorrow, the deficit is huge due to the drop in temperature. Today all the power units of the nuclear power plants operating in the controlled territory have resumed their work. There are still restrictions on the networks that cannot provide a certain part of their power due to the consequences of rocket attacks. I think in the near future we will see the full capacity of three nuclear power plants in the network,” said Kudritsky.
He also expressed hope that within a day or two it is possible to increase the volume of generation available to consumers.
Earlier, Energoatom reported that Ukrainian nuclear power plants were operating with restrictions. This is due to the inability of the power system to accept all the energy produced in the power units.
