CNN anchor Jim Acosta takes issue with Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s concerns about localizing sharing into a “fantasy” commodity.
Musk, who tweeted that the tip was “essentially assassination coordinated,” joined a Twitter Spaces chat on Thursday, where he doubled down on his false claim as Drew Harwell of the Washington Post, one of the journalists whose accounts have since been reinstalled on the platform – when pressed.
Acosta on Saturday questioned Musk’s “real-time location” claim and called his allegation part of a “fantasy.”
“If you’re a reporter covering a politician or a sporting event and you’re doing it on Twitter [someone has] just hit the floor, like a player has arrived at the stadium, I assume you are talking about his position in real time. But if you’re talking about Elon Musk’s plane, I mean how the hell are you supposed to give precise coordinates at any given time? Acosta asked.
Acosta continued, “If you were to extrapolate that and engage in this fantasy, I mean, does he think the U.S. Air Force is coming? It’s so weird.”
