The US Defense Budget Bill (NDAA-2023) was passed by an overwhelming bipartisan majority, with 83 senators voting in favor and 11 voting against. It provides for the allocation of $45 billion more for US defense needs than Biden submitted in a formal request to Congress. In total, the new defense budget covers $818 billion for Pentagon spending and $30 billion for the US Department of Energy.
