The man reportedly found and brought home two anti-personnel mines left behind by the Russian military. He decided to show the find to his 33-year-old friend. During the demonstration, shells exploded.
“The man died, his friend received multiple injuries and is in hospital,” the statement said.
The police noted that the man died on the spot from his injuries, and his friend received multiple injuries, now doctors are fighting for his life.
Law enforcement officials encouraged residents of the liberated territories to follow the rules of personal safety, not to touch dangerous finds and not to approach them, because at any moment they could explode.
Remember, as the head of the joint press center of the Operational Command South Natalya Gumenyuk said, the storm in the Black Sea increases the threat to the mine. Explosive teams worked in the directions of Nikolaev and Odessa, neutralizing sea mines.
