The lion’s share of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in winter uniforms is closed, help from partners will be an additional reserve, Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Anna Malyar said at a briefing at the Military Media Center .
According to him, the armored vests and helmets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the reserve, are currently fully provided.
So, in the period from December 8 to 14, the Ministry of Defense provided more than 11 thousand body armor, more than 10 thousand helmets, more than 75 thousand pairs of winter shoes to equip Armed Forces units of Ukraine.
In addition, more than 70 thousand winter jackets, 65 thousand winter pants, 73 thousand sets of field suits, more than 118 thousand winter hats, more than 104 thousand jackets of warming suits (fleece), almost 140 thousand sets of demi-season and winter Underwear.
“The reserve of personal protection weapons of the Ministry of Defense maintains the level of about 200 thousand bulletproof vests and helmets – more than 100 thousand. New batches of armor arrive, at the same time, they continue which is given to the troops to replace the new units,” Malyar said.
The Ministry of Defense also noted that in terms of the total amount of winter jackets that have been transferred to the army, 87.2% were purchased under contracts of the Ministry of Defense, 8.3% – logistical assistance from partners and 4.4% – charitable assistance.
