A return to pre-war reality is no longer possible, according to the Polish government.
A return of the West to pre-war relations with Russia is impossible. This is what the spokesman of the Polish government, Piotr Muller, said at a briefing in Warsaw on Tuesday, December 13.
Warsaw is in favor of the strictest sanctions against Moscow, but this requires the consent of all members of the European Union.
The West and Europe should not return to the relations with Russia that were before the big war against Ukraine, a representative of the Polish government believes.
“It is impossible. We want Russia to stop its aggression in Ukraine. But even after that, there is no way to return to the reality before the war,” said Muller.
The representative of Poland stressed that the country will continue to pay significant attention to the West to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as the issue of macroeconomic assistance to Ukraine.
It should be noted that Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Yablonsky believes that the opinion that the Russian Federation has the right to demand “security guarantees” from anyone is a strategic mistake. Under the circumstances, such requests must be presented by Europe.
He reacted in this way to French President Emmanuel Macron’s words that Russia needs to ensure security if its ruling regime sits at the negotiating table with the Ukrainian side.
