One of Europe’s most influential energy organizations will help Ukraine file lawsuits against the Russian Federation and seek compensation for losses.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Ukrenergo and the Secretariat of the Energy Community on Russia’s compensation for damage to Ukraine’s energy system. The NEC reported this on December 12.

“One of the most influential energy organizations in Europe – the Energy Community, of which Ukraine has been a member since 2010, will help us to file lawsuits against Russia and demand compensation for losses caused by backbone networks of Ukrenergo,” Ukrenergo said in a statement.

It was mentioned that from the first day of a mass attack to the present, all the damage to the networks and destroyed objects were recorded in detail to charge the terrorist country.

To this end, the Energy Community Secretariat will involve international and Ukrainian experts, will conduct a thorough review of which Ukrenergo can apply for compensation for losses, and a working group on legal claims that specially created under the memorandum represents NEK in Special. Tribunal against the Russian Federation.

An action plan will also be developed and key experts and companies will be identified that will provide support for the consideration of claims against the Russian Federation in national courts and international tribunals.

Remember, according to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal, in Ukraine, as a result of large Russian strikes, 40% of high-voltage network facilities were damaged.

It was also reported that Ukrenergo raised more than €400 million for the equipment.
