Some Ukrainians who left because of the Russian invasion have already returned to their homes from abroad or other regions of the country.
About a quarter of Ukrainians who fled their homes because of the war have returned, Forbes wrote, citing data from the UN, governments of Ukraine and other countries, as well as analytics of movement from Vodafone Ukraine.
“About 9 million Ukrainians remain far from their own homes – more than 20% of the total population. Among the 5 million are within the state, 4 million are abroad, mainly in Poland,” the article said.
Of the 2.9 million refugees, more than 1 million entered Poland to go to other countries later, more than 700 thousand returned to Ukraine.
There are approximately 400,000 refugees in Russia, including forcibly displaced persons. Next in terms of the number of refugees are the Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary.
Some of the migrants have returned home. More than a million people have returned from abroad alone, and the number of those internally displaced may be the least.
At the same time, Forbes data differs from the UN data, according to which more than 5.2 million people left Ukraine, another 7.1 million became internally displaced people.

It should be noted that only 2 million Ukrainians are officially registered as migrants.
