In addition to the “grain agreement”, the parties discussed issues of bilateral relations in the energy sector and the situation in northern Syria.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation on December 11, in which they discussed the “grain deal”, as well as the war and the situation in northern Syria. This was reported by Anadolu in connection with the Office of the President of Turkey.
It was noted that, among other things, Erdogan said in a conversation that Ankara and Moscow could discuss the export through the “grain corridor” of additional types of products, in addition to the agreed ones already. He also expressed to Putin the wish that the war between Russia and Ukraine “end as soon as possible.”
In addition, the parties discussed issues of bilateral relations in the energy sector and the situation in northern Syria.
According to Erdogan, it is important for him to stop the activities of the Kurdish PKK / YPG in the 30-kilometer zone near the Turkish border, in accordance with the Sochi 2019 agreements.
As noted on the Kremlin website, during the conversation, Erdogan and Putin continued “an exchange of views on the initiative to create a regional gas hub in Turkey.”
It will be remembered that after the conversation with Putin, Erdogan called the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. They discussed further work and possible expansion of the “grain corridor”.
As reported earlier, Erdogan announced the talks with Zelensky and the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin.
