For the first time since April 2022, Belarus has completely lifted the ban on visiting forests on the border with Ukraine.
This is reported by the Belarusian edition of “Flagpole”.
The map of bans and restrictions on visiting forests in the regions of Belarus has become completely green. This happened in early December, according to data on the portal of the Ministry of Forestry, all bans and restrictions on visiting forests have been lifted. Regarding some border regions of the Gomel region with Ukraine, this happened eight months later, the publication points out.
The closing of the forests in the south of the Gomel region began in April, and since then the map of bans and restrictions on visiting the forests has coincided with the pattern of movement of Russian military equipment.
According to the publication, Russian military personnel are still present in the Gomel and Mozyr districts of the Gomel region. At the same time, the State Border Committee of Belarus announced the extension of the ban on visiting the border strip in the Gomel region – until March 1, 2023.
The ban was introduced from June 1, 2022 to December 1, 2022, and has now been extended until at least spring.
Recently, the State Border Committee of Belarus noted that restrictions on the entry, entry and temporary stay of citizens in the border strip are in force on the territory of the Bragin, Loevsky and Khoiniki regions on the border with Ukraine.
