Russia blackmails Europe with gas – Zelensky

Since April 27, Gazprom has completely suspended gas supplies to Bulgargaz (Bulgaria) and PGNiG (Poland) for refusing to switch to payment in rubles.

Russia’s blackmail to Europeans with gas indicates the impossibility of normal economic cooperation with Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, April 27, by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video message.

He noted that this week the Russian leadership had begun “a new series of energy blackmails of Europeans.”

“The decision to cut off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria is another argument in favor of the fact that no one in Europe can hope to maintain any normal economic cooperation with Russia,” he said.

Zelensky stressed that Russia treats not only gas, but also any trade as a weapon.

“It is only waiting for the moment when one or another trade direction can be used. Or used to blackmail Europeans into politics, or to strengthen Russia’s military machine, which considers a united Europe as a target, “stressed the President of Ukraine.

According to him, the sooner everyone in Europe recognizes that it is impossible to rely on Russia for trade, the sooner it is possible to guarantee the stability of European markets.

Following Poland, Russia stopped its gas deliveries to Bulgaria.

Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Russia’s ban on gas imports would not end the war against Ukraine. He argued why he did not allow the introduction of a Russian gas embargo.
