The EC announced the ninth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reported on the introduction of the ninth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“Russia continues to bring death and destruction to Ukraine. We support Ukraine and make Russia pay for its brutality. The existing eight package of sanctions that we have introduced so far is already painful. Now we are increasing the pressure in Russia with the 9th package,” he said. head of the EC.

In the new package of sanctions: restrictions against nearly 200 individuals and three Russian banks; new forms of export controls, especially for dual-use goods; a ban on the broadcasting of four TV channels; measures against the energy and mining sectors of the Russian Federation; new restrictions on Russia’s access to drones, both directly and through potential suppliers, such as Iran.

It was previously reported that the United States has blacklisted 10 Russian companies.
