SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – A 3 -month -old boy abducted from his San Francisco Bay Area was found Tuesday and three suspects were arrested, police said.
Baby Brandon Cuellar was taken to the hospital as a precaution, the San Jose Police Department announced on Twitter and did not say where the child was.
The statement came shortly after police told reporters that the woman had been arrested as a “person of interest” in the case after authorities called the difference in her statements about her kidnapping to police. Authorities later said a total of three suspects were arrested, but did not disclose if there were female suspects.
The baby was taken from an apartment in San Jose on Monday by a man who entered the home and was seen on video walking with the baby in a baby carrier.
The arrested woman, whose identity is not known, was with the baby’s grandmother before young Brandon Cuellar was abducted Monday by an unknown sergeant, a San Jose police spokesman. Christian Camarillo told reporters Tuesday.
“This is a man who was with his grandmother yesterday when they were shopping. He was in an apartment complex when it happened, “he said.” There were inconsistencies in what he told us. Clearly, we focused on what he knew about it. “
Police released a video showing a man walking on the sidewalk holding a fanny pack wearing a white blanket.
“The family does not recognize this suspect,” police first wrote on Twitter.
Camarillo told reporters Monday that the kidnapping was reported by the child’s grandmother.
“According to the grandmother, she went home to this apartment … she took the child to the apartment, she went down to pick up the groceries,” Camarillo said. “In that short time, someone entered the apartment … and left with the baby.”
Brandon was last seen with dinosaurs wearing long -sleeved white clothes.
Camarillo said the child’s mother was at work when the kidnapping occurred.
“Dad is not in the picture now. He is in jail. “I don’t know, you know if that will affect, but of course we’ll talk about that soon,” Camarillo said.
It is said that it is difficult to decipher the man who took the baby because he was wearing a mask.
