Danilov said that the Lavra is owned by the state, and the authorities have not yet made a decision about the possibility of the OCU to use them.
The authorities have not yet made a decision regarding the transfer of the site of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to the use of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was announced on Friday, December 2, by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov on the air of Present Time, reports UNN.
“The Lavra belongs to all the people. I did not see that the state gave the opportunity to use the place. Anyone can register a public organization at any address, but the permission of the owner must be obtained . Neither the Cabinet of ministers nor any other (authority) accepted such documents”, – said Danilov, commenting on the creation of the OCU monastery in the Kiev Lavra.
“It is impossible to move the temples. We need to know what is happening there. Everything is spelled out in the order, what should happen,” Danilov emphasized.
He also noted that if it is proven that the current user of the Lavra – the UOC-MP – is cooperating with Russia, it will be closed and banned from the territory of Ukraine.
Remember that now it has become known, that the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is officially registered as a monastery as part of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The OCU explained that in practice this means that there is a legal entity that can receive the property of churches and premises for use.
Recall that on December 1, a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council was held, which considered the relationship of individual religious circles in Ukraine with Russia. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to propose to the Verkhovna Rada to ban the activities of religious organizations affiliated with Russian centers of influence in Ukraine. This is about UOC-MP.
And tonight it became known that President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against the figures of the UOC-MP and the former People’s Deputy Vadim Novinsky.
