The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) completed counterintelligence activities at the UOC-MP facilities located in the Transcarpathian, Rivne and Zhytomyr regions. As a result, warehouses with pro-Kremlin literature, Nazi symbols, “the doctrine of Satanism” and texts of prayers for Patriarch Kirill were found on the territory of the dioceses. The SBU press center reported this on Friday, December 2.
“In the St. Nicholas Monastery in the Khust district of Transcarpathia, symbols of the banned OPLJ party and brochures were found in which the Russian invaders were praised in the war against Ukraine. joined the ranks of the invaders were also hidden there, ” – said the message.
The SBU also noted that “hidden Belarusian cash” was found on the territory of the Rivne-Ostroh diocese. In addition, pamphlets were found here with calls for peace with the “brotherly Russian people”, the glorification of the “Russian land” and “Russian soldiers”. The authors of these opus are citizens of Russia and Belarus.
In the convent of St. Anastasius and two Sketes in the region of Zhytomyr, “some people were found in contact with Russian citizens.” The SBU noted that “visitors” settled on the territory of hotel complexes in churches and used anonymous messengers to communicate with representatives of the aggressor country.
“The seized materials have been sent for analysis to take further legal action and bring the culprits to justice,” the report said.
Recall that the SBU reported suspicions to the former Metropolitan of the Kirovohrad diocese of the UOC-MP. The head of the church was charged with subversive activities against Ukraine.
