USA emphasized this Thursday in Lodz (Poland) what he called the “failure” of Russian President Vladimir Putin in his intention to divide the members OSCEwhose foreign ministers held a meeting in which they advocated the prosecution of crimes war committed Russia in Ukraine.

Nuland stressed that it was the use of the instrument known as the “Moscow Mechanism” that made it possible to maintain unity in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
This mechanism allows members to approve decisions without the need for a general consensus.
This mechanism, adopted in 1991, provides an opportunity for the dispatch of experts to assist Member States in solving questions or problems related to the human dimension of the organization’s activities.
Nuland represents his country at the meeting in Łódź in absence due to scheduling reasons of the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken.
