Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on targeted Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The infrastructure that is now under attack is the infrastructure that provides the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the nationalist battalions, he said at a press conference on European security issues, according to the propaganda state news agency TASS.
Putin’s Ribbentrop believes that “as a result of high-precision strikes,” the Russian military “disables” those energy facilities “on which the delivery of a huge amount of weapons depends, which the West pumps into Ukraine to kill Russians.”
The Russian Foreign Minister also compared Kherson and Stalingrad when he was asked to answer the question why the Russian army is shelling infrastructure in the city, which he formally considers his territory.
Well, the city of Stalingrad was also our territory. And we beat the Germans there and beat them so much that they ran away from there,” Lavrov said.
Recall that Russia formally annexed the Kherson region in early October. At that time, Russian troops controlled almost the entire territory of the region. In early November, the Russians retreated from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper.
Russia has been striking Ukraine’s critical infrastructure since September. The last such attack was carried out on November 24 – because of it, many cities of Ukraine, in particular Kyiv, were left without electricity for several days.
