In St. Petersburg, the famous former journalist Alexandra Garmajapova, herself a Buryat and living abroad since 2016, newly appointed by the “foreign agent” of Russian justice, decides to counter this reputation. He then posted several videos that went viral of Bury people living in Ukraine or abroad speaking out against the war. The movement would grow and eventually become the Azat Buratya Foundation.
