Behind the current situation in Transnistria are forces not interested in stability in the region, Moscow believes.

The latest developments in Transnistria are alarming in Russia. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, reported by RIA Novosti on Tuesday, April 26.

The Russian Federation wants to avoid a scenario where Moscow would have to intervene in the conflict in Transnistria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, he said.

Rudenko added that, obviously, behind the current situation in Transnistria there are forces not interested in stability in the region and want to create another hotbed of tension.

Earlier today, information emerged that two radio communication towers and a military airport had been blown up in Pridnestrovie.

Transnistria authorities announced the introduction of a “red level” of terrorist risk within 15 days, the parade on May 9 was canceled.
