Developers are already working on the technology for remote use of the “pencil” using unmanned aerial vehicles.
Specialists of one of the enterprises of Ukroboronprom created a prototype product for burning metal (HPM) SF-1, which looks like a pencil. This was reported by the press service of Ukroboronprom.
“Thanks to its exothermic powder mixture, it effectively burns the metal shells of explosive objects, such as bullets. This leads to the burning of the explosive. Such a pencil can be used in mine clearance. The developers are is already working on the technology for remote use of the SF-1 VPM using unmanned aerial vehicles. This will improve the quality of demining and save people’s lives. It is important to use the device safely,” said Ukroboronprom.
It is reported that the company that developed the novelty is a mine action operator in Ukraine and received a certificate that gives the right to conduct mine clearance and other operations with explosive objects on the territory of our state.
This enterprise has its own Center for Humanitarian Demining, which employs high-class specialists.
Since 2010, the Center has been recognized by the UN as a provider of mine action services and a partner of UNMAS, the relevant service of the United Nations.
Earlier, Ukroboronprom announced the production of the first domestic 152 mm shell and announced the next UAV tests.
