Minsk is spreading information about the alleged mass migration of Ukrainians to Belarus by the European Union.
The deputy coordinator of the Polish special service, Stanislav Zharin, said that the information about the alleged mass movement of Ukrainian refugees from Ukraine and the EU to “safe” Belarus is a fake spread by Minsk. Zharin wrote this on Sunday, November 27 at Twitter.
He emphasized that in this way propaganda tries to distort information about the role of Belarus in the war against Ukraine.
“Belarusian propaganda again implies that Ukrainians fleeing Russian aggression are seeking asylum in Belarus, seeing this country as safer than EU countries. Minsk directly implies that Ukrainian refugees come to Belarus through the EU countries,” Zharin stressed.
Earlier, the border guards of Belarus said that the alleged Ukrainians were leaving the EU en masse, in particular, from Poland to Belarus. According to statistics provided by the Republic of Belarus, more than 60,000 Ukrainians have recently arrived in the country, including 40,000 from Poland.
According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as of November 22, there are 4.75 million registered refugees from Ukraine in the EU. Mainly – in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, a group of illegal migrants is detained at the border between Ukraine and Belarus, brought there by Belarusian security forces and border guards.
