On the morning of November 27, a fire broke out in the industrial area of the Angarsk petrochemical plant. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Irkutsk region.
According to the rescuers, the technological installation of the heat exchanger caught fire. When the firefighters arrived, the area of the fire was 200 square meters.
Due to the incident, no one was injured.
“The equipment is cooled, the extinguishing continues with the help of special means. The supply of installation materials is blocked, further burning of the remaining fuel occurs,” the report said.
The Angarsk petrochemical company is the largest enterprise in Eastern Siberia for the processing and production of petroleum products, is part of Rosneft. ANHK is one of the 10 largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation; up to 9 million tons of oil are processed annually at the enterprise.
