The Russian president hypocritically complained about the large number of dead civilians and children in Donbass.
Russia should have “reunited” with Donbass earlier. It is said that Moscow does not understand what is happening there. The said statement on Friday, November 24, was made by the President of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the mothers of Russian servicemen participating in the war against Ukraine.
“As for 2014, of course, in retrospect, we are all smart, but we proceeded from the fact that it might be possible to reach an agreement. And Lugansk, Donetsk, at least within the framework of agreements with Minsk, will be able to reunify with Ukraine. We sincerely moved towards it, but we did not fully feel the mood of the people, it is completely impossible to understand what is happening there, “said Putin.
“Now, it probably became obvious that this “reunification” should have happened earlier. Perhaps there would have been less civilian losses, not so many children would have been killed under the shelling,” the Russian president added.
Recall that since the start of the war against Ukraine, Russian aggressors have killed 1,223 civilians and wounded 2,634 in the Donetsk region alone. These official figures do not include the thousands of deaths in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Also, on February 24, Russian troops killed at least 440 Ukrainian children, injured 849. At the same time, according to separatist media, from spring 2014 to July 2022, 130 children were killed in the so-called “LPR ” and 515 were injured.
And throughout 2021, as a result of the battles in Donbass, four children died, eight more were injured.
