Ukrainian pilot Roman Vasilyuk, a pilot of the Su-25, was released from captivity, who on March 14, while conducting a combat mission, was shot by the air defense of the occupiers in the city of Volnovakha, region of Donetsk. “He underwent numerous interrogations by Russian special services. Before his release, he was in the regional central clinical hospital in Donetsk. On April 24, he returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine … Roman Vasilyuk is now receiving of proper medical care. and met with his family, “the report said.
It is indicated that the pilot met with the head of the GUR, Kirill Budanov, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexei Danilov.
Vasilyuk himself is sure that in a month he will fully recover, and intends to continue defending his homeland.
“I will not stay in the hospital for a long time. In a month I want to return to duty and fight until our country is finally liberated from the occupiers,” he said.
Earlier, two Ukrainian pilots were released from captivity. Ivan Pepelyashko and Aleksey Chizh are in the pre-trial detention center of the city of Kursk along with eight other Ukrainian officials.
