More than 12 hits to the station’s infrastructure facilities were recorded. The equipment needed to launch the 5th and 6th power units was damaged.
The Russian military throughout the morning on November 20 opened fire on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. More than 12 “arrivals” at the station area were recorded, they said in Energoatom.
It was noted that as a result of the attack, communication racks with special buildings, water storage tanks with chemical desalination, a steam generator cleaning system, auxiliary systems of one of the two general stations of diesel engines and other equipment of ZNPP were damaged.
There were also three hits in the substation area rainbow, information about which is being investigated.
“The nature and list of damaged ZNPP equipment indicates that the racists aimed and disabled exactly the infrastructure necessary for the launch of power units 5 and 6 and the continuation of electricity production at Zaporizhzhya NPP for to the needs of Ukraine,” the company. stressed.
AND Energoatom recalled that recently it was decided to bring power units 5 and 6 to the minimum level of controllable power to produce steam, which is critically needed during the winter to ensure the safety of the plant, personnel, population and environment.
According to the company, the invaders prevented the launch of power units in every possible way.
“Fake station director from Rosatom Romanenko, with the help of the Russian military, who seized ZNPP and used it as their own military base, blocked the preparation of power units to bring them to the minimum power level. Today, the Rashists fired and destroyed the equipment, the failure of which makes it impossible for any further actions to launch the ZNPP power units,” the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that employees of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant do not sign contracts with Rosatom and en masse into Ukrainian-controlled territory
Energoatom estimated damage to ZNPP at UAH 28 billion
