The said decision of the Polish authorities is not compatible with the status of the chairman of the organization, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Russia called Poland’s decision to reject Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s participation in a meeting of the Council of OSCE Foreign Ministers as provocative. This is what the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday, November 19.

Moscow believes that “Poland violated the Rules of Procedure of the OSCE and the decisions of its decision-making bodies, especially the decision of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Porto (2002) on the principles of work of the current chairmanship. “
Sergei Lavrov’s office said that throughout the year, instead of strengthening the OSCE, Warsaw destroyed its foundations, “did everything it could to destroy the culture of fundamental consensus in the Organization, and fueled dangerous centrifugal forces tendencies.”
“The unacceptable attack on Russia in the context of the Ministerial Council is the culmination of Poland’s entire ‘anti-presidency’ in the organization,” the Russian statement said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry is convinced that “all sensible politicians share the position of the Russian side on the unacceptability of such actions and will give them a principled assessment.”
It was also reported that instead of Lavrov, the Russian delegation will be led by Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich.
The day before, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that Russia will be denied access to the December meeting of the OSCE in the city of Lodz. So Lukashevich’s trip can be “idle”.
