US President Joe Biden has officially appointed diplomat Bridget Brink for the role of new ambassador to Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, April 25, by the White House press service.
Today, President Biden announced his intention to appoint Bridget A. Brink, a veteran American diplomat, to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine.
Today, Brink is the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Slovakia, holding this post since 2019. Prior to that, he was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs for several years.
From 2014 to 2015, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. Since 2011, he has worked in Georgia as Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi.
He began his diplomatic career in 1996.
Recall that Brink could be ambassador to Ukraine in December. And in early February, Ukraine began to negotiate the appointment of a US ambassador.
