“In October 2015, a 47-year-old man defected to the enemy side in the context of an ongoing international armed conflict,” the statement said.
In April 2019, he received the position of “tank commander”, and in February of this year he was sent to the settlement area of Trekhizbenka, Lugansk region. Together with the military of the Russian Federation, he fought with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“In May-June 2022, during street fighting in Severodonetsk, a man ordered for the shelling of a drama theater tank and residential buildings,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The man was tried under three articles – encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, treason, the creation of armed formations not provided for by law or participation in their activities (part 2 of article 110, part 1 of article 111, part 2 of article 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ).
Earlier this week, it was learned that the “LPR” mortar man was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The convict participated in military operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a “mortar platoon” stationed in Alchevsk.
