The Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of thwarting the Russian Federation’s efforts to strengthen and hold new defensive lines in the eastern part of the region.
Russian forces in the eastern part of the Kherson region are likely to be slightly vulnerable to the Ukrainian “blockade campaign”. This was announced by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in a report on November 17.
It was noted that several major communication lines pass through the eastern part of the Kherson region: the T2202 New Kakhovka-Armyansk, P47 Kakhovka-Genichesk and M14 routes leading east to Melitopol, Berdyansk and Mariupol.
“Satellite imagery indicates that Russian troops are taking up defensive positions along some of these critical lines, and social media posts indicate that Ukrainian strikes have begun to damage staging areas. of Russia and military installations along these routes,” the military said.
They believe that the limited number of high-quality roads and railways in the area, especially those connecting Crimea to the mainland, create potential vulnerabilities that could be accessed by Ukrainian attacks.
It was emphasized that this would gradually reduce Russia’s ability to supply the group in the eastern part of the Kherson region and other areas in southern Ukraine.
“Ukrainian forces will likely find it more difficult to achieve such dramatic results in the eastern part of the Kherson region, but they can hinder Russia’s efforts to strengthen and hold their new defense lines,” ISW concluded. .
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian troops were striking the positions of the occupiers on the left bank of the Kherson region.
