In Chernivtsi, a monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was dismantled from the territory of an educational institution. This was reported by the Chernivtsi City Council.
“Did you know that in Chernivtsi there are two monuments to the “great Russian poet” Pushkin? They are, because one has been dismantled. The other is a matter of time. We have enough of our own great artists and hero. Really?” City Hall said in a statement.

According to local publication Young Bukovinets, the monument was dismantled from the territory of Chernivtsi Higher Commercial School DTEU on Cathedral Square. It was installed in 1956.
Earlier, Mayor Roman Klichuk noted that there are two monuments to Pushkin in Chernivtsi, as well as a bust of the Russian writer in the Olga Kobylyanska Music and Drama Theater.
