23-year-old Zambian citizen Lemehani Nathan Nyirenda died in the war in Ukraine. Previously, he was in one of the Moscow colonies. Now the Zambian government is demanding an explanation from Russia.
Nyirenda died in Ukraine on September 22. Currently, his body is in Rostov-on-Don and is being prepared for shipment to Zambia. The BBC writes about it.
The Zambian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the man was a student at one of the Moscow institutes, but in April 2020 he received nine and a half years in prison. It is not known how he got to Ukraine.
Now the government of Zambia is asking Russia to immediately provide information on how a citizen of their country, who was imprisoned in Moscow, got to the war in Ukraine.
Recall that the private army of Russian war criminal Vladimir Putin “PVK Wagner” is actively involved in the war against Ukraine. “Wagnerites” are responsible for a number of executions of prisoners on video and war crimes.
The leader of the “Wagnerites”, the so-called “Putin’s cook” Yevgeny Prigozhin, was spotted several times in Ukraine, in particular in Popasna, where Ukrainian HIMARS destroyed a mercenary base in August. It is known that Prigozhin travels around the Russian colonies and agitates prisoners to join the ranks of the PIK.
