A group of representatives of the European People’s Party in the European Parliament called for the recognition of Russia as a terrorist country. This is what the vice-head of the foreign affairs group Rasa Yuknevicienė said.
The group condemned Russia’s presence at the G20 leaders’ talks, saying “terrorists do not need to negotiate.”
“The European Parliament is open about this, and we will vote for a resolution in the plenary session next week to classify the Russian Federation as a terrorist state,” said Yuknevicienė.
The statement also states that the EPP group “condemns Russia’s unjustified, unprovoked and illegal aggression against Ukraine after the annexation of Crimea in 2014.”
“Vladimir Putin and those who helped him here, including Alexander Lukashenko, should be called war criminals. The EPP group calls for legal proceedings under international law to investigate and prosecute all actions that legally qualify as a war crime,” the statement read. statement.

It was previously reported that the Czech Republic recognized the ruling regime of the Russian Federation as terrorist. The resolution was supported by 12 of the 14 deputies who are members of the committee.
Before that, the Polish Senate unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Russia as a terrorist regime.
