Negotiations may become more real when the electoral cycles in the Russian Federation and the United States begin to work. However, Ukraine will sit at the negotiating table once its conditions are met.
The head of the Servant of the People group in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, said that Ukraine will negotiate with Russia when its conditions are met. He predicted that this could happen in the second half of next year.
He recalled that before the liberation of Kherson there were many talks about negotiations.
“There are still some skeptical publications in the Western media. I am sure that after the victories in the South they will no longer be relevant,” Arahamia said on Telegram.
He added that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has clearly stated the conditions under which a person can talk about something with Russia.
“This is the restoration of territorial integrity, compensation for all damages, punishment of all war criminals, effective guarantees that this will not happen again. An important factor is the electoral cycles of our allies and conquerors. But our position does not change from here on. Ukraine will sit at the negotiating table when our conditions are met,” stressed Arahamia.
Commenting on this issue on the air of the telethon, he revealed the approximate dates.
“Actually, I think it will be when the electoral cycles start to work both in Russia and in the United States, that is, it will be somewhere in the second half of next year, when the races will begin in the presidency of the United States. . well, Putin will have an election in 2024. And everyone has to show something politically. I don’t think Putin can show any military achievements, so they can have something for his people,” Arahamia said.
He also noted that Russia is now raising the issue of negotiations again, because it needs time “to recharge.”
“They are regrouping, there are problems with weapons, with ammunition. They just need time to strengthen their positions,” Arahamia stressed, adding that Ukraine will not give Putin such time.
Earlier, the Kremlin announced two scenarios for the end of the war: “achievement of its goals” or peace negotiations.
