Israel has sent humanitarian aid and medical equipment to Ukraine, but has refused to provide any weapons.
Israel does not have the manufacturing capacity to supply Ukraine with the air defense systems it requires. This was announced on Wednesday, November 9, by Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, as quoted by The Jerusalem Post.
“It is clear that even if we have decided to change our policy, it is impossible to exhaust our stockpiles of air defense systems. We are evaluating every day what can be done and how we can extend our assistance, but we must not forget that NATO is behind Ukraine,” Gantz told reporters.
The publication noted that Israel has already sent humanitarian aid and medical equipment to Ukraine. Tel Aviv also helps Kyiv with intelligence and has offered to help develop early warning systems.
However, according to media reports, Israel continues to refuse to provide Kyiv with any weapons that could be considered lethal weapons, in particular air defense systems.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the improvement of relations with Israel and the beginning of the path of cooperation between the countries.
