The importance of the midterm elections in the US Congress should not be exaggerated, the Kremlin spokesman insisted.

The midterm elections in the US Congress will not affect the bad relations between Moscow and Washington, so its importance should not be exaggerated. This was announced on November 9 at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, Interfax reports.

“We are carefully studying the information coming in. These elections are important, but I would not be wrong if I say that there is no need to seriously exaggerate the importance of these elections for the future in the short and medium term for our bilateral . relations,” said Vladimir Putin’s spokesman.

According to him, “the elections cannot essentially change anything.”

“Relations still exist and will remain bad,” the Kremlin spokesman insisted.

It can be remembered that on November 8, the so-called midterm elections were held in the United States, held in the middle of the president’s term.

They elect the entire composition of the House of Representatives and a third of the Senate, as well as governors in 36 states.
