US Representative to the UN Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield assured that the United States will not let Ukrainians freeze or starve.
The United States Representative to the UN, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who is visiting Kyiv, announced an additional $25 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support vulnerable people in Ukraine during the winter. This was reported by Ukrinform.
“Today I visited a center for displaced people, partially funded by USAID, to make sure people have food, shelter, and warmth this winter. There, I was honored to announce an additional $25 million from USAID to support vulnerable populations in Ukraine during the harsh winter. These new funds will expand our planning and assistance to approximately 75,000 hardest hit farms,” he said.
Thomas-Greenfield emphasized that the United States is paying close attention to Ukraine’s energy needs, ensuring that the United States will not allow Ukrainians to freeze or starve due to the extreme, unnecessary, illegal and inhumane war of Russia.
Earlier, US authorities announced that they would provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $400 million.
